Margery Allingham Locked Room Titles

Margery AllinghamMargery Louise Allingham (1904 – 1966) was an English writer of detective fiction, best remembered for her “golden age” stories featuring gentleman sleuth Albert Campion.

Allingham’s breakthrough came in 1929 with the publication of ‘The Crime at Black Dudley’. This introduced Albert Campion, though only as a minor character. He next appeared in Mystery Mile, at the instigation of her American publishers. Allingham’s skills continued to improve, and with Campion’s popularity growing, she began to produce a 17 novel series, while continuing to write short stories and non-fiction for magazines such as The Strand Magazine.
